Following up on the Top 10 Best Kingdom Come tracks, we bring you the Top 15 Greatest Hidden Gems from Def Leppard. Some of these tracks were actually released as singles back in the day, but relative to their more popular singles, most go unnoticed and deserve to get a special light shed on them today.
In a ten year span, Def Leppard went on to release what could arguably be viewed as one the best heavy metal albums of the decade (High ‘N’ Dry), the best hard rock album (Pyromania) and one of the greatest rock albums (Hysteria) ever made. continue reading...

The Mountains & The Trees is a name for the music created by singer/songwriter Jon Janes from St. Johns, Newfoundland. The music mixes bits of folk and rock and quiet, delicate vocals for a sound that isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but certainly has its charms. The band’s first full length album is called I Made This For You and features today’s mp3, “More & More & More”, which I cannot stop listening to. As far as my musical tastes go, this tune seems to have the perfect balance of words and sounds where each lends itself seamlessly to the other. I look forward to hearing more music from Mr. Janes, enjoy: continue reading...
Day after day, in every news program on this planet, the Middle-East conflict is a major topic and it is one of the reasons the world we all live in is a world apart. For decades every attempt to make peace between Israel and the Arabian world has remained futile and the death toll keeps rising. Where politicians have failed, a mere metal band daringly labeling its style “Jewish Muslim Metal” or “Middle Eastern Progressive Metal” has actually achieved the unimaginable and united Israeli and Arabian people in spite of all their cultural, religious and political differences and conflicts!
Bizarre album title, but overall, fantastic news! Here’s some more info on the new release as well as some tour dates below which are selling out fast!
Sufjan Stevens is set to release The Age of Adz, his first full length collection of original songs in five years, October 12 on Asthmatic Kitty Records. The album is available for pre-order now until September 25, with pre-orders receiving music digitally two weeks prior to the physical release date. The Age of Adz comes on the heels of Stevens’ All Delighted People EP, available for purchase now from most digital stores, and his 2009 film and musical suite The BQE. This performance is right at the height of Strokes-mania, when they were the most buzzed about band on the planet and probably the most buzzed about band ever. Grunge, Alternative and Modern Rock had all lost their luster and the internet had quickly become an explosive new way to discover music and spread music. The Strokes basically capitalized on a fresh Garage Rock sound and a audience looking for something that wasn’t boy band Pop. The buzz was enormous, but luckily The Strokes had the songs to back it up. Their debut Is This It was one of the best albums of the decade and set the bar ridiculously high for everything that came after. This 2001 performance of “Last Nite” shows just how tight they were even back in the early days, and shows why the hype was justified in the first place. Now if only they could regain the heights of that first album…. continue reading...
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists continue to pump out top notch rock and roll and hopefully this new collaboration with Funny or Die exposes the band to some new fans. The video is hilarious and takes some pretty obvious jabs at Green Day and their new Broadway show. “Bottled In Cork” is also a great track from a great album called The Brutalist Bricks, check it out. Enjoy: continue reading...
