Born in the Netherlands, Esmée Denters was like many other teens when she decided to start uploading her vocal covers of some popular songs to YouTube. She was unlike many other teens in that she had tons of talent. Before long, she was discovered and quickly signed a deal with Justin Timberlake, becoming the first act signed to his label, Tennman Records. She has since opened for such acts as Timberlake, Ne-Yo and Enrique Iglesias. In 1994 the world of rock mourned when Kurt Cobain, barely 27, allegedly shot himself while high on drugs. Twenty-five years earlier, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones, all legendary musicians, died at the age of 27. Many rockers have died at this age before them and the curse continues- this year Zambian musician, Lily Tembo died at 27.
