Wow, what a guy. This reminds me of the time my buddy got arrested while in Med school and showed up for class the next morning and spent the first 20 minutes re-lacing his shoes…. classic. Read more about Homme and watch Them Crooked Vultures rip it up below:
There’s plenty of anticipation surrounding the second album by Them Crooked Vultures, the supergroup made up of Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme.
The band were once thought to be a studio side project, but have recently started to take themselves more seriously. They toured earlier this fall and will play several U.K. and Australia concerts in December and January.
Things were going swimmingly for the band when they were three days into recording the follow-up to their self-titled debut album earlier this year.
That is, until Homme got himself arrested.
Homme hasn’t revealed why he was thrown behind bars, but he isn’t concerned much about his criminal record. Rather, upon his release, he was more embarrassed to explain the situation to Grohl and Jones.
Homme, formerly of stoner-metal icons Kyuss, says his bandmates were understanding.
“When I got out of jail, we were recording that day,” he says in a Contact Music article. “So I told the guys, ‘Look, I haven’t had that much sleep, it’s going take me a sec to get my thing together.’ And to not have one look of judgment was very cool. I gotta be just who I am, because I don’t know who else to be.”‘
This isn’t the first time Homme’s been in hot water. Last year, he released a statement denying he’s a homophobe after using a series of anti-gay slurs at a concert when a fan threw a shoe at him.
