Well that was quick… No new album? No shows in North America? Too bad, I would have liked to hear some new music from Blur. Read more on the apparent re-breakup from Graham Coxon via Ultimate-Guitar.com:
According to Nme.com, Graham Coxon has stated that Blur has no future plans to play together or act as a band following this year.
The quintet reunited earlier this year to play a collection of festivals and shows. In a video interview with Nme, Coxon stated they have nothing in store for the future.
“We’re in touch and we say ‘Wotcha’ and all that but nothing has been mentioned about any more shows or anything else,” he explained.
“Everyone’s slipped back into what they do when the Blur creature isn’t heaving around. Law and cheese and music, I suppose.”
Aside from Blur, Coxon does plan to go ahead with a solo career. The guitarist will play a handful of gigs under the name The Graham Coxon Power Acoustic Ensemble.
