Quicktime

One of the greatest rock bands of all time, The Who defined modern music for the past four decades. Now after years of anticipation, some of their most unforgettable moments can finally be experienced with THE WHO: AT KILBURN: 1977, releasing on a two-disc DVD and single-disc Blu-Ray set November 18 from Image Entertainment.

Newly mastered in high-definition with state-of-the-art sound for a spectacular home theater experience, the December 15, 1977 Kilburn show at the Gaumont State Theater in North London was recorded before a select audience for Jeff Stein’s hit film about The Who, The Kids Are Alright, but only a few brief selections of what would prove to be legendary drummer KEITH MOON’s public swan song were ever seen in the finished feature. Captured on 35mm with six cameras and a 16-track audio recorder, the complete Kilburn show features Moon and the rest of the band’s classic line-up — singer ROGER DALTREY, guitarist/singer PETE TOWNSEND, and bassist JOHN ENTWISTLE–in top form with many of their biggest hits.

Also included in this release is another never-before-seen show and one of the band’s favorites, their 1969 London Coliseum performance, which comes with a wealth of additional bonus tracks and boasts the first-ever full live recording of their groundbreaking rock opera, Tommy. With a total of 29 classic The Who songs, this pivotal release has long been at the top of rock fans’ wish lists and has been regarded as a lost “holy grail” for followers of The Who since Moon’s passing. This release will occur in conjunction with major, high-profile airings of the Kilburn show as a Fall 2007 pledge drive title with heavy promotion on PBS.

Currently on tour through November 2008, THE WHO have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame and won the first annual Freddie Mercury Lifetime Achievement in Live Music Award and a GRAMMY® Foundation award for creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording. Their albums Tommy, My Generation and Who’s Next have been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame. After successfully releasing his 20/20 EP and video produced entirely by Focus of Aftermath, L.E.S rapper Fokis is back with a new project. Having like many of his contemporaries utilized the online marketing site Myspace.com, Fokis decided to take things one step further. Connecting and linking with various producers and artists he had met through the site, A Walk Through MySpace was born.

The compilation album which features up and coming artists from all over the country will be available for digital download in November and is yet another example of a well executed project by Fokis. Please find attached the first single from the project GET LOOSE which sees Fokis assisted by L.E.S lyricists Fordablok, Crosby & Toronto’s Adversaree. The horn heavy track which is produced by California native D.C is enough to uplift any mind on a Monday morning also features scratches by Canada’s DJ Grouch.

To coincide with the release of this project, Fokis is giving artists/designers the opportunity to design the artwork for A Walk Through MySpace. The winning design will be featured for the cover and also the flyers for the album release party which will be taking place at the Pyramid Lounge in NYC on November 16th, thus encouraging extensive exposure for the winning artist.

If you are interested in submitting artwork for consideration please go to http://www.criticalmmg.com/fokis-competition-info

Fokis is currently featured on all the top video sites and blogs with his track 20/20, the second single from the well received 20/20 EP which also features DJ Grouch. Check out the video here:
