New York’s own Au Revoir Simone will be playing a few very special shows this winter, taking them from coast to shining American coast.  Following a hugely successful tour opening for Air in Europe this November/December, these shows are likely to be the last Au Revoir Simone will play until they complete work on the follow-up to their acclaimed debut, The Bird of Music, out now on their own label, Our Secret Record Company.
2007 was certainly an incredible year for Au Revoir Simone’s Heather, Annie and Erika.  In addition to releasing The Bird of Music, the band hit the road with folks such as Peter, Bjorn and John, Voxtrot and Oh No! Oh My!, playing their first full tours of America.  They were featured on festival bills alongside the likes of Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips and Gang of Four, and generally wowed anyone who saw them live, including director David Lynch, who made it known in many interviews throughout 07 that they were his new favorite band.  Indeed, Au Revoir Simone’s dreamy keyboard cavalcade is the sort capable of casting quite a musical spell.  One listen and you may end up being a fan for life….

“Laying down beds of cozy, intertwining synths, Au Revoir Simone sing with disarming clarity about sadness and happiness and how neither is anything without the other.”- Planet, Summer 2007

“Three hot indie chicks with synths, the ladies of Au Revoir Simone create ethereal electro-pop pefect for a lazy Sunday morning.”-Rolling Stone, April 19, 2007

“Au Revoir Simone knows how to write melodies. The Brooklyn synth-pop trio delivers infectious musical dreamscapes one after the next.”-YRB, June 2007
