A couple of summers ago, I use to work at the local pool as a lifeguard and every Sunday and Wednesday night I would get into the water to lead a water aerobics class. After each class I would stress the importance of hydrating and eating within the half hour. On one hot summer’s day I added that the metabolism burns the most calories after a work out so if they wanted to enjoy a beer they should do so after class. After the next class I had a woman and her husband explain how they not only had enjoyed a beer, but also an ice cream sundae, chips and candy!
