WALTHAM, Mass., July 23 /PRNewswire/ — Millennium Research Group has conducted a detailed analysis of the therapeutic botulinum toxin (BTX) market in its Global Markets for Therapeutic Botulinum Toxin 2007 report. The analysis reveals that an increasing number of patients will receive BTX treatment for therapeutic use over the next five years in the US as there is an expanding range of indications which will drive the market to over $850 million by 2012; a 15% growth rate over 2006.

Toward the end of 2012, new therapeutic BTX indications are expected to be approved and reimbursed which will drive unit sales in the US. In 2009, Allergan anticipates that Botox will be approved for the treatment of chronic daily headache, a condition that affected nearly 2 million people in the US in 2003. continue reading...
