Women love to shop! Why not combine our love for shopping with our desire to get fit?
Fitness expert Katrina from Diet.com came up with some great ideas to burn the calories while you find the perfect dress for your office party so that you can shop longer and skip the gym.
-Don’t look for the closest parking spot.
Park across the parking lot so that you have to walk. If you live near the mall why now walk the entire way?!
-Think about your lunch.
A day of shopping will mean that you’re going to get hungry. Instead of indulging choose your meal wisely and pack healthy snacks to avoid gorging on sugary treats.
-Take the stairs.
Walking the mall is a work out in itself, but to add something more take the stairs instead of the elevators and escalators.
-Use your bags as weights.
Instead of carrying your purchases over your shoulders, carry them like you would dumb-bells for bicep curls. When no one’s looking hold them at a 90 degree angle for an extra workout.
-Set an incentive.
For every purchase you get on sale do 20 sit ups and for every purchase you pay full price for do 20 push ups once you’re home. Add on more sets if the purchase is for yourself rather than a gift.
