Are you a huge retro junk fan? Well today I’m feeling nostalgic for the 1980’s classic Flash Gordon. When you watch the trailer keep in mind that this came out between the Original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. What where they thinking? That’s like racing against a sports car with an rickety wagon! Stooipid!

Still, the music by Queen is classic and you must join me by getting it stuck in your head for the duration of the weekend as well…

Are you a chick that likes to watch romantic comedies, or a sappy guy that is constantly dragged by your woman to see them? Well guess what, you’re both suckers!

That’s right, According to Vince at UPROXX , movie studios follow ten easy to copy and paste steps when creating a romantic comedy. As a result, all of the films in this genre are pretty much the same ‘trash’.

Here’s exactly what Vince has to say:

“Unless you’ve been living in the moron cave on Retard Mountain, you’ve probably noticed that romantic comedies are big business. Movies like The Proposal, The Ugly Truth, that one with Matthew McConaughey and the treasure; they’re out there earning two and three hundred million dollars.

And if you think that’s because they’re good, I’ve got news for you, retard, you’re retarded. The truth is, they make that kind of scratch because they tap into a familiar formula that boring people find comforting and recognize as one of their own, rather than attacking with pitchforks like they would an intellectual challenge, or the town ogre. And now, because I’m such a righteous dude, I’m here to explain that formula to you, the cretinous layperson. Because as they say, don’t hate the player. Learn to make cheap knockoffs of his product, drive him out of business, and make his dog like you better than him, because f-ck that guy, who does he think he is.”

Man does this guy point out the obvious. And my reposting of his sage opinion also results in my girlfriend kicking my ass cause due to her unnatural love of romanti-fluff.

3d-glasses-kit.jpg

Are you excited to go to your local Best Buy and check out the new 3D Televisions being shown? Well unless you recently won the lottery or came out on the winning side of a lawsuit, I’d suggest waiting until the price of the newfangled Televisions and gear come down… a lot!

Actually, forget about the outrageous cost of the TV … the glasses alone will bankrupt you! Here’s the listing from BestBuy Canada for their glasses kit:

New! Samsung 3D Kit-3D Glasses And Movie.
$449.99

And here’s the product description and features (As listed on the site):

“At less than 30g and styled into a form-fitting sunglasses-type frame, Samsung’s 3D Active Glasses are the perfect fit for you and your 3D-compatible components. Plus, this cool kit includes the Monsters vs. Aliens 3D Blu-ray movie so you can start your 3D movie collection right away….Samsung 3D Active glasses enable a uniquely realistic 3D viewing experience and contain a built-in emitter. As the image is split into left and right eye signals on your 3D TV screen, the 3D active glasses alternately darken in perfect synchronization with the TV’s refresh rate, and generate a pure 3D image that’s free from ghosting and visual distortion.”

Now add to this that a 3D Blu Ray Player costs over $400, the Televisions are 60% more expensive then 2D models ($2500 for 40′/ $2900 for 46′/ $3700 for 55″ -Prices in CAN dollars) and you got yourself a real downer on an otherwise wicked new technology.

Here’s a new news report detailing the 3D tech in case you’ve been living under a 2D rock:

Are you ready for a third stoner romp from the stoned duo?

Apparently, we’ll be spared a break from their never-ending road-trips and be given a semi-legit christmas comedy.

The plot involves a jump of a few years forward to Harold and Kumar not living together anymore. John Cho thinks the studio might even want to get it out for this upcoming Christmas. Yes, that does seem fast, but he think that a Harold & Kumar movie is a cheap/low effort enough kind of project for the timeframe.

You can count on Neil Patrick Harris returning. My bet is that he returns as the Ghost of Christmas Past…he dies in part 2…remember! Plus, this franchise alone rebooted Doogie Houser’s career.

No matter what happens, my vote is for Barack Obama (the real guy, not an actor) to make an appearance in their misadventures. This would seem possible as Kumar actor (Kal Penn) is working at the white house right this very instant..yes he has pulled a Schwarzenegger and entered the political landscape.

Here’s what Harold Star John Cho has to say about the project:
“I think we catch up a little later in Harold and Kumar’s lives. It takes place over the holiday season and I think this could be a legit holiday movie which is a shocker. I think their intent is to sort of honor the traditions of the holiday movie style, that genre. I don’t know if they’ll stick to that. I don’t know how many rewrite are gonna happen, but from what I hear, they’re happy with the idea.”

Shrek 1 was awesome, Part 2 was okay… and Shrek The Third was terrible! However, I honestly have to say that this alternate reality Shrek 4 plot does bring back the good vibes of the first movie! Check it out, it actually looks good!

But do you honestly believe that it will be the final Shrek movie?…not a chance. They’ll spring for that direct to video stuff eventually.

And did you catch that this film will be in 3D? Not really necessary if you ask me.
