If you haven’t heard of Avatar yet, you might be living on Pandora…
A group of people from Wisconsin have produced a documentary style video about L.A.R.P (Live Avatar Role Playing)… At least I think it’s a documentary. I honestly still can’t tell if this is a joke or if they are actually being serious.
“The latest manifestation of the ‘Avatar’ craze has surfaced in Wisconsin: Live Avatar Role Playing (AKA LARP). Previous spin offs from James Cameron’s epically grossing 3D film include Palestinian protesters dressing as ‘Avatar’ characters, 3D porn, and a mountain in China renamed ‘Avatar Hallelujah Mountain.’
“I feel comfortable like this, I feel like this is my real skin, you know, and this is who I am,” one of the LARPers, Douglas “Eytukan” Murphy tells the camera. “So I don’t have to be ashamed of it, like a Chinese person shouldn’t be ashamed of being Chinese.” The action takes place in ‘Hometree,’ Wisconsin.” - Courtesy of The Huffington Post.
If this is a joke, than it has to be one of the funniest sketches I’ve seen in a while. If this is however an actual role playing game and everything they say and do is meant to be real, then these guys and girls need a serious reality check… IT’S JUST A MOVIE!!!
Although, I have to admit, I would seriously consider covering myself head to toe in blue paint, wearing an extra long wig and tail, if it meant I could hook up with one of those super hot Na’Vi chicks in the video.
Alice isn’t the only one shooting down the rabbit hole…
As you may or may not have heard, Tim Burton’s new spin/sequel to Alice in Wonderland is causing a few unsightly rumbles…In fact, it’s even spurred viewer boycotts and self-imposed theatre bans.
Wait a second, how did we get to this point? What’s the problem?
Well, the first issue, the one that movie goers have, is that they fear that this movie confirms their wildest fears that Hollywood is planning to phase out 2D movies. These fears seem so large in fact that there is an online petition that you can sign. I won’t be providing the link as I see no problem in progress. It’s almost like people (several decades ago) trying to ban color…it isn’t gonna happen.
So while I do agree that not every movie should be in 3D, just as every movie doesn’t need to be in color…it’s natural that Hollywood would mix things up to get us out of our comfortable home entertainment centers. I just wonder if there will be a petition when Smell-O-Vision becomes the next big craze…?
Okay, and now for the other problem I mentioned…the extreme act of self-imposed theatrical bans. Why would that happen? Well it seems that European Cinemas (not American ones…yet) are pissed off that Alice will arrive on all major video formats in less then 90 days following it’s theatrical release (this is a greater concern in Europe where people must wait 4 months). they believe that this will further tempt movie goers to stay home…
How do you feel about this? Is 3D the devil? Would you go to the cinema and spend the extra 3D costs, or wait it out?
Let’s just hope the film heals all wounds by featuring an update to the Unbirthday Song!
This video will blow your mind. Sure, most people assume that TV shows don’t always take place on location in NYC or wherever else the setting may be, but the level of detail and realism in this revealing video is quite amazing. Watch:

John Mayer’s recently published interview with Playboy has shocked fans and those he spoke about. Unfortunately, this is not the first case in which a celebrity makes outrageous remarks while on tv, in an interview or while being intoxicated.
In this gallery WatchMojo.com takes a look at other racist comments that were some say were a stupid mistake and others say were an inside look to the speaker’s heart.
