Bobby Rahal is an American race car driver whose career began in the 1970s. Racing was in his blood from a young age – his father was an accomplished racer, as well – and he got his first taste early. By 1975, he was racing in the Canadian Formula Atlantic series alongside racing greats such as Gilles Villeneuve. During his career, he won the Indianapolis 500 in 1986, and was also a champ car champion three times over. Following his retirement in 1998, he has stayed involved in the sport in an ownership capacity.
