And a study had to be conducted to prove that.
I don’t know about you, but I could have told you that sans expensive surveys and studies conducted over several months. It’s not sexist in any way; it’s just a fact. Women would rather clean the house/kitchen/bedroom/do the laundry than spend a Saturday morning scrubbing down their car inside and out.
The study was conducted in the UK and found that 56% of women in the UK go 6 months between washings. That’s quite a long time and actually ends up hurting the longevity of their cars. Cleaning your car is about more than feeling good as you drive a shiny vehicle down the road, it’s about preserving the paint, removing harmful, corrosive elements and keeping your car in safe, working order.
Of course, not every woman is like this. I, for one, love spending a morning detailing my car and cleaning it out from top to bottom. It’s energizing and uplifting, and when I’m done I can show it off to the world; I can’t do that after I’ve scrubbed and polished my wood floors and home. I don’t think taking them out to show the world would work very well.
Cleaning your car shouldn’t be a chore, it should be a fun activity that you do because you have pride in your possession and what to keep it looking as fabulous as possible. But if you want to drive around in a dirt-pile of a car that smells like rotten food and looks like it’s been through a rally stage by mistake, then that’s your choice. Just sayin’.
