That’s right, Chrysler is reportedly stopping production of their PT Cruiser model and the end of the month.
I can’t say I’m upset. Like a slouching hearse, the PT Cruiser looked morbid from day one, and unfortunately saw little change from then. First introduced in 2000 as a 2001 model, Chrysler sold approximately 1.3 million Cruisers to the U.S. over the past 10 years. However, in the last year, just over 5,000 have made it into American driveways. Not such a good number, which is a major part of the model cut.
This isn’t terribly exciting news, unless you’re a PT Cruiser enthusiast, in which case I’m sorry for your loss, and for you in general.
Here’s hoping the HHR will see the same fate. Fingers crossed.
