Mark Cuban’s solution to fix YouTube’s monetization problem is considerably flawed. He’s a smart guy and a good salesman, but he obviously does not use YouTube as a content producer so his solution is as useful as an I love USA banner in downtown Baghdad. Nonetheless, I love this quote by Mark Cuban:
“Sometimes, you have to decide between the crown and the cash.” I agree. We gave up any desire to be #1 in streams if it meant having unprofitable ones. Besides, there is merit is arguing whether it’s easier to lock up monetization after distribution or secure distribution after monetization. Note to self: separate post.
