Interesting story about how much various online video projects pull in… Ultimately I think the question boils down to what your objective is: Money, Power, Respect… or Fame…

It says you need 500,000 views per month to quit your day job… I quit my day job to launch WatchMojo.com… it’s been two years, we generate many more views than 500,000 per month (sometimes we’ll do that in a day).  But we don’t make $100,000 per month, at least not yet, as does the Ask a Ninja guys (best part of the NewTeeVee Conference, by the way).  I think the bottom line is whether you want to build a business or be a star, but that’s a post for another day.
