It’s an end of an era, not sure for how long though. Thirteen years after Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates replaced Warren Buffett as the world’s richest man, America Movil’s Carlos Slim played the same trick on the former Harvard dropout.
Thanks to a 27% stock surge, Slim weights in at a mind-numbing $67.8B, with Gates “only” at $59.2B.
This begs two questions:
1 - Is Slim’s wealth sustainable?
2 - If I’m Slim’s money man, I might want to sell some shares in Slim and scoop up shares in Microsoft, no?
