According to an article by Business 2.0 there are currently in the neighborhood of 175 video sites on the web and about 85 that host and share videos. That is a huge number and as the article points out there is no way that even half of these will be able to survive. It should be interesting over the next year to see who can stick it out and offer something that is worthwhile and who can separate themselves from the Youtube clones…
The answer lies in quality content that is produced specifically for the web, instead of user generated material which is 85% garbage or its copyrighted.
