Top 3 Things We Want To See In Life Is Strange 2

The Strangeness Continues

With its episodic narrative, relatable characters, unique approach to the idea of time travel, as well maintaining a strong balance between teenage issues and the supernatural, Life is Strange ended up being an unexpected treasure of a game. The way Max and Chloe fought against murder mysteries, adolescence and fate itself was beautifully told, appealing to both our humanity and love of unorthodox superhero origins. Its bittersweet conclusion only sealed the deal as an overall excellent title.

While Pricefield’s story may be over, a sequel has nonetheless been confirmed, one said to focus on  new set of characters. To that end, these are the top three things we want Life is Strange 2 to bring to the table!

Fair warning, there are MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

#3: A Different Tone

The original game was all about teenage relationships blended together with the antics of a mysterious killer, not to mention an unavoidable apocalyptic event. While these are all potent subject matters, we’d like to see them change things up. Don’t skip on the poignancy, but bring in new issues that are just as relatable and hold an equal amount of weight through the eyes of a nee protagonist. Perhaps a parent? A graduate? There are so many angles and types of people that could be represented. We don’t need another Max Caulfield.

#2: More Focus On The Villain

While the argument that the real threat was the storm, Life is Strange still had a human antagonist in the form of Mark Jefferson. He certainly had his moments, but it’s fair to say that a lot more could have been done with him. Hopefully the sequel will put a tighter focus on our new villain and really develop them as a legitimate menace that we live in fear of. Maybe an organisation or a rogue hunting after those gifted with these crazy phenomenons?

#1: New Powers

Time travel is certainly an interesting ability, but we think over the course of five episodes we’ve seen enough of it. A change is in order. There are of course countless super-attributes that our protagonist could use, but given the game’s tendency to focus on detriments over benefits, we feel that a more destructive power would work best. Perhaps some kind of elemental control? Telepathy and telekinesis? Basically anything that can blow stuff up!
