With its gorgeous art style, a cast of characters that were beyond lovable as well as an interesting take on what one might considered an overused topic, its little wonder that Little Witch Academia soon became many a fan’s anime of the year.
Originally nothing more than a duo of short films, the witches of Luna Nova Academy finally got their chance to shine early in 2017, where it introduced us to the trials and tribulations of Atsuko “Akko” Kagari. While her love and admiration for magic couldn’t be stronger, when it comes to actual talent, let’s just say there’s still a lot to be desired. Luckily, she’s surrounded by a colorful cast of characters, who through a hilarious set of misadventures, reaffirm her dream to one day become as great a witch ss her idol; Shiny Chariot.
The series may have been a Netflix darling that came and went in the blink of an eye, but that doesn’t mean the adventure is quite over yet. According to an article on Anime News Network, Little Witch Academia will be making its video game debut in the west next month!
Germany’s official PlayStation blog revealed on Wednesday that the Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Timegame will launch for PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store and PC via Steam in the Americas and Europe on February 20.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America describes the “3D action beat ’em up” game’s original story:
Having been inspired by a famous witch named Shiny Chariot, an ordinary girl named Atsuko (Akko) Kagari enrolls at Luna Nova Magical Academy, a prestigious school for young girls training to become witches. Before starting summer vacation, Akko and her new classmates find out about an inexplicable phenomenon at Luna Nova caused by the Seven Wonders, which has been passed down for several centuries. Now it’s up to Akko as she takes on the adventure to unravel the mystery surrounding the Seven Wonders.
